Meeting big sister

Introducing Daniel "Hal"

Daniel Hal was born on February 13 at 8:19 am. He weighed in at 8 lbs 6.7 ozs and was 19 1/4 inches long. Daddy has decided that we are going to call him "Hal". So far he has met both Grandmas and of course his big sister. I'll post some pictures for everyone to enjoy! We are all home and doing well.

Hair cut(s)

So, I guess I made a mistake that many mothers probably make over time. I tried to cut Kate's hair myself to save the few bucks it cost to drive down the road and have someone who is trained to cut her hair do it. It actually went quite well...until Kate decided that she wanted to try to cut her hair as well...and the result was a drive down the road to pay someone trained not only to cut hair, but to fix hair cut by a 3 year old. The drive there was a little unsettling and we were not sure if she would cooperate but she was wonderful, and now has a rather stylish cut for a 3 year old. Denise is my hero...and will continue to cut Kate's hair for now.

Beauty salons are exhausting...notice she did not let go of the balloon (and yes, we are aware that she is growing out of this car seat...for all of you safety conscious people out there...a booster seat is in the works:)).

Change of Command

As most of you know, Dan's Change of Command ceremony was last week. I am still working on getting pictures from the family (I really didn't take any myself) but I have received a few....some rather funny. As you can see Kate really enjoyed playing with the equipment on the helicopter. We had a wonderful time with family and friends. I'll share more pictures as I get them...until then, enjoy these few.

Gingerbread House

Kate and I (with a little help on the building from Dan) put together this gingerbread house this morning. I actually cheated and bought the kit online. Kate had fun "gluing" the candy on. Overall, it doesn't look nice and neat but it was a successful first try.

Dan's Man Space Makeover...

My parents flew here a couple of weeks ago to build a storage loft in our Garage for Dan as our Christmas present. Dan's Dad drove down for the weekend as well. Here are a few pictures from the project:

Here is one more from the Children's Christmas Party...to show the decorated helicopter:
Dan and I got dressed up for the adult party and tried to take a few family pictures before we went out. Not the best idea I've had but here is one of the better pictures:
